Abstract

At the beginning of 2016, the epidemiologic reports in Latin America and around the world alerted us about the Zika virus epidemic. So much so, that on February 1st 2016 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared risk of Zika epidemic in Latin America, and the association of pregnant women infected by the Zika virus and fetal microcephaly(1).
